Because food is the most important thing in Italy - that much is at least clear to me now - at weddings they have a great way of ensuring people can find the restaurant after the ceremony. It's slightly cringy but they pin pictures of the married couple (in a classy A4 plastic cover) along the route from the church all the way to the restaurant.
